The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, high caliber Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Minnetonka, MN office, working in our Electrophysiology medical device division. This position will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing and operations of Abbott medical devices. They will work closely with a cross functional team to design and develop manufacturing processes, tooling, and fixtures in order to meet daily production initiatives while maintaining and improving upon product cost, quality, and safety. This role will support engineering from 12pm to 11pm Mon - Thu.

What You’ll Work On

  • Manage Projects which include the implementation of new production equipment, process improvements and cost reductions within CAPA’s or Quality Plan initiatives. Including:

    • Coordinate the design, procurement, build and debug of tooling, machinery and test equipment as well as execution of qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ).

    • Improve product quality, labor efficiency, and throughput using Lean Manufacturing concepts.

  • Generate and modify manufacturing process documentation (work instructions, process parameter sheets, etc).

  • Understand manufacturing concepts like Value Stream mapping, 5S, Labor Efficiency & throughput.

  • Lead investigations and implement root cause correction actions for manufacturing and quality concerns to prevent re-occurrence.

  • Support Process FMEAs and Process Validations.

  • Participate as a manufacturing lead and/or support a lead on cross-functional core teams.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other engineers and technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Four year degree in an engineering technical field, preferably mechanical, chemical, biomedical

  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills

  • Solid computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Project, PowerPoint), Minitab

  • Ability to travel approximately 5%, including internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device and manufacturing related experience preferred.

  • Experience with process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ)
