This position works out of our Bay Area, Austin, Bend, or Orlando location in Lingo.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing web and mobile applications that provide a seamless user experience. You will work closely with the design and development teams to bring our product vision to life.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop the business logic and product’s backend systems

  • Write scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code

  • Translate software requirements into stable, working, high-performance software

  • Ensure coding, testing, and documentation tasks are successfully performed for new application development and enhancements to existing system functionality

  • Work closely with front-end developers to design and develop functional, performing, and complete APIs or GraphQL

  • Define initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity, such as implementing automated test tools or new development methodologies within the team

  • Perform code reviews and prepare (or guide) technical documentation

  • Define standards and processes to be followed during the software development lifecycle

  • Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

  • Design and implement front-end components using React, ensuring a seamless user experience for web and mobile applications.

  • Develop back-end components using Node.js, writing scalable and efficient code.

  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to implement user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for web and mobile applications.

  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code using best practices and modern software development methodologies.

  • Implement automated testing and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.

  • Participate in code and design reviews, ensuring high quality and efficient code.

  • Stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry developments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in full-stack software development with a strong focus on React and Node.js.

  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

  • In-depth experience with React and Node.js, including building and consuming RESTful APIs.

  • Strong experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.

  • Good understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.

  • Experience with mobile app development using React Native or similar technologies is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is a plus
